In My Mailbooks (47)

"In My Mailbox" is a weekly feature hosted by the super fabulous, Kristi at The Story Siren. "IMM" is a way to share thoughts on the books you've received throughout the week with readers. To read more about "In My Malbox," click here.

Since I didn't do an In My Mailbox post last week, these are the books from last week and the week before.

 1. The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern- You know, I'm really unsure as to whether this is YA fantasy or Adult Fantasy. I keep hearing different things! Regardless, I am so super duper excited to read it! Everyone keeps telling me how magical and amazing it is!

 2. Never Eighteen by Megan Bostic- I actually heard a lot about this book before it was coming out, and then I never really heard anything about it again. But Willa from Willa's Ramblings just finished it and highly, highly recommended it. I'm prepared for tears with this one.

3. The Cupcake Club: Peace, Love, and Cupcakes by Sheryl and Carrie Berk- This one looks really adorable! Any book about cupcakes has me hooked! And a thank you to Sourcebooks Inc. for sending this one. :)

 4. Endure by Carrie Jones- This is the final book in the Need Series. I haven't yet read the other books, although I know that they've been extremely successful. I'll be apart of the blog tour for this book in a couple of weeks. Can't wait! And thanks to Bloomsbury for sending this one! :)

 5. Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson- I can't believe that it was just the week before last that I picked this one up from the library! I finished it the same night. Such a good book! If you haven't read it, go read it right now!

 6. Casey Barnes Eponymous by E.A. Rigg- This looks likes it's going to be a fun one! I haven't heard too much about it, but it's received great ratings and reviews on Goodreads. Plus, I absolutely love the quirky title!

 7. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald- I've wanted to read this one for such a long time! So I stomped on over to Half Price Books and bought like a $4 copy or something. (Note: Classics are really cheap at Half Price Books) Plus, John Green has an awesome video on The Great Gatsby which only adds to my strong spiritual desire (I'm kidding) to read the book.

That's all for this week (and last week)'s In My Mailbox! Feel free to leave a link to your In My Mailbox post in the comments. :)

  2. Although I haven't read Speak, I have read a few other of Laurie Halse Anderson's books, and they've been amazing.

  3. The Night Circus was a really good book that I'm glad I read. It's adult, but was also marketed to teens for some strange, unknown reason. But it's great.

    Enjoy your goodies!

    1. Huh- good to know. I keep seeing it as marketed to teens one place and adults in another. Glad to have that cleared up. Thanks! :)

  5. The Night Circus IS magical and amazing! I hope you love it. And agree with Speak. I didn't read it until I had to for a graduate class, and I am so glad I did. Hard to make yourself pick something up you know will be so sad and powerful, but it's so worth it. Enjoy!

P.S. I am making mint tea IMMEDIATELY because of your blog title. :P

    1. Yess! Obviously, I'm also a pretty big fan of mint tea. ;) And I agree with you about how it's hard to read a book when you know it will be sad and powerful. But it's usually worth it, isn't it!? Thanks for stopping by, Heidi. Enjoy your tea! :)

  7. Your blog is super cute ! How have I never been to it before ?

I read the Night Circus (and was super lucky to meet Erin Morgenstern). It's not a YA and she herself said she never set out to write a YA but, is glad YA readers are reading it.It does have some teenaged characters in it so, maybe that's what it is ?

Anyway, it's very good and David Heyman (of Harry Potter) is set to direct the film version)

    1. Ah, yes- I bet the teenage aged characters did that. Erin Morgenstern actually came to my town in the fall, but I had no idea who she was then, so now I'm sort of kicking myself. And I'm glad to hear that they have a good director for the movie. That's always good news. :)

  8. Yes, yes to Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. That woman amazes me. Her writing is incredible! Really hope you enjoy it. Have a great week!

  9. Great set! I loved The Night Circus. It's more of an adult book. Don't pay attention to the blurb. It's not really about the love story. It's an ensemble book about all the circus members. It's slow but beautiful.

  17. Nice haul! I really want to read The Night Circus and Speak. And I've read The Great Gatsby, but I didn't love it. But I love John Green so I've been thinking about rereading it since he loves it so much. Happy reading, thanks for stopping by my IMM, and DFTBA! ;)

  18. OMG, The Night Circus is one of my favorites from 2011 ! I've had Speak in my TBR pile for so long. I should really get to it.

I love your blog name and layout. It's very neat and clean !

  19. Night Circus! You have to read it Meredith, such a great book... although I think it's adult. Can't say I'm a huge fan of Speak though, I mean, it was a little too depressing for me.

  20. Oooooh! The Great Gatsby! I'm a little scared to read it. You should do a post about all of the classics you've read, and tell us their ups and downs. It would be so helpful!

  21. The Night Circus and Speak have been screaming for me to read them. I really need to do that soon. Great books!
