John Green Week: Nerdfighteria & Vlogbrothers

In honor of the great author, John Green, today I am going to talk about the awesome community caused by the wonderful books John Green writes and videos John Green and his brother, Hank, create.

Vlogbrothers:

*If you are already a nerdfighter you probably already know everything I have to say in this section so feel free to skip to the highlighted portion of this paragraph.

Over the time in which John and Hank Green have created vlogbrothers videos, many terms and inside jokes have been formed between the fans of the vlogbrothers videos and the Green brothers. If you are a nerd, and wish to be a part of the John Green crew you should probably meander over to the vlogbrothers youtube page. When you get there, there is a 99% chance that John or Hank Green will say words like "nerdfighters", "nerdfighteria", "DFTBA", they may also talk about a yeti as if it is a real thing, and they may end a sentence with the words "In your pants". If you find yourself at John Green's page and he says something like, "The yeti and I...", Do not roll your eyes and think something along the lines of Why do people read books and watch videos by this crazy man who believes in yetis? In this hilarious video John discusses Snooki's bad grammar and punctuation and how it can lead to some severe misunderstandings. *Don't be alarmed by the still picture, I promise the video is funny!

In this video John Green goes around his neighborhood doing positive pranks. Most of his books include some pretty epic pranking, so this video is definitely a fun one.

This is an older video, but nonetheless entertaining! John Green shows how nerdy he really is and he talks about his only trophy he ever won as a child.

Nerdfighters

    Nerdfighters are the aftermath of John Green's books and videos. Nerdfighters are hard core John and Hank Green fans and the community of Nerdfighters is called Nerdfighteria. I find it really amazing and wonderful that the effect of John Green's books and vlogbrothers has created an extremely diverse community full of people who love to learn and want to make the world a better place. While nerdfighters have fun inside jokes, and enjoy displaying nerdiness, they also participate in some awesome projects hosted by the Green brothers. An important project is called Project4Awesome.      I am relatively new to all of this nerdfighteria business, so one of my goals is to start becoming a more hard core nerdfighter!
